TEW Members Come Back from Visiting GK Sites

John & Elaine with
GK Village residents
Two of Team Evergreen Washington's committed members just came back from the Philippines, inspiring those of us here with stories of their trip to a couple of GK sites.  John and Elaine spent only 9 days in the Philippines for personal reasons but they took 1 day from their busy schedule to see the work that GK is doing, at least in Manila.  They were able to visit a site in Quezon City and another one in Taguig.

They shared a short video of their experiences with the TEW members telling them stories of inspiration after having themselves seen the life-transforming power of a decent home and community.  The particular site they visited in Quezon City is an example of how different parties can come together to help the less fortunate.  They shared pictures of Canada Street (homes sponsored by GK supporters from across our northern border) and Proctor and Gamble row (houses built from corporate contributors).  They were also able to hear testimonies from GK beneficiaries themselves and the volunteers who daily make it a part of their lifestyles to help build the community spirit in those GK villages.
By the way, those villages are far from being completed - just like other GK villages in the country.  So if you'd like to step in and lend a helping hand, let us know via email and we'll hook you up.
