TEW commits to the Majada-In Village in Laguna
Ever since TEW was formed, it was always understood that they would build a village in the Philippines for the poor to help at least 30 families out of poverty. But times had been tough and it took a while for them to reach the level where their efforts could actually move the vision forward. That time came after the success of their "Walang Iwanan" awareness dinner last May. This month, the members of TEW, through GK-USA, formalized their commitment and partnership with St. Victor and St. Francis parish churches in San Jose, California to build a village in the Majada-In Community in Baranggay Cabuyao, Laguna. Thanks to donors and supporters, the team was able to fund the beginnings of their village. The full site can actually hold more than 500 homes and some groups have already set up communities in the area. TEW, in partnership with the 2 churches in San Jose, are building a new village tentatively called "Bayanihan USA GK Village" to give focus to the teamwork and camaraderie involved.
